The foundation of every sculpture is the strength of its design, its "form in space."
The "Winghaven" sculptures, three large bronzes, are installed at the entrance and round-a-bout, of the Winghaven Community in O'Fallon, Missouri. They are an "abstract" interpretation of the Winghaven logo.
Reliefs
Relief sculptures can be "high relief" as in "St. Joseph and the Christ Child", a life-size sculpture that varies in thickness from 1/2" to 7", or "bas relief" as in the "McKendree Medallions" and the "The Old Cathedral and St. Louis Arch" that depict complete scenes in 1/2" or less.
Reliefs are similar to drawings, and due to the ease of mold-making and casting, are far less expensive than "in-the-round" sculptures.
